1.            INTRODUCTION

Intel® Teach Program and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan jointly announce Contest for “Best Integration of Technology Aided Learning in Class Rooms”. The Joint contest aspires to acknowledge the best Practices of Technology Integration in Education.

          The last date for submission of detailed entries is 30th December 2008. The winners of the contest will be announced in the third week of January 2009.

          The contest is divided into four categories:

A. Student of the year Award

This award will be presented to the student(s), who have successfully applied technology in his/her learning process, and thereby have enhanced their learning.

B. Teacher of the Year Award

The Award will be presented to the teacher(s) who have enhanced student learning by effectively and innovatively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum, and thereby promoted inquiry-based and collaborative learning among their students. 

C. School of the year Award

This award will be presented to the school(s), which recognizes the importance of technology in the teaching and learning process, and has successfully integrated Technology Aided Learning (TAL) in the school curriculum for enhancing student learning. 

D. Region of the year award

Three regions would be awarded prizes based on the number and quality of entries submitted. 

All entries sent by Schools, Teachers and Students from Kendriya Vidyalayas will be evaluated by a panel of judges formed by the KVS officials, Kendriya Vidyalaya Teachers, Teacher Educators from College of Education and the Intel® Teach team. 

2.    SELECTION PROCEDURE 

A panel of 5 judges will be formed; Intel & KVS will nominate two persons each for the panel and a senior lecturer from the College of Education. The panel will shortlist the candidates as per the criterion specified in Selection Rubrics. Each Judge will receive

·         A Contest Leaflet with details of the Contest.

·         Contest Evaluation Rubric on the basis of which the entries will be judged.

3.    EVALUATION

Ist Round of Evaluation

·         The Intel® Teach team will evaluate the submitted entries as per the criterion laid down in Contest Evaluation Rubric. For identifying best entries per region, the team will evaluate the hard/soft copy of the entries submitted by the participants.

IInd Round of Evaluation

·         The Intel® Teach team will conduct telephonic interview of the short listed participants.

III rd Round of Evaluation

·         For identifying the National level winners, judges will evaluate the short listed participants as per the criterion laid down in Contest Evaluation Rubric.

·          The marks obtained by each Participant (school/Teacher/Student) will be filled in the evaluation sheet. The judge will need to sign the respective evaluation sheets.

4.   RESULTS

·         The results of the contest will be declared on the KVS website http://kvsangathan.nic.in/

·         The winners of the contest will be felicitated in the award ceremony that will be held in the  Last  week of Jan 2009

 

5.   ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Intel:

·        Intel will co-host the contest and will be responsible for the certificates and prizes mutually decided upon for all 4 categories.

·        Intel will conduct the Ist and the IInd round of Evaluation of the entries received.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan:

·        KVS will publish the contest details in their website http://kvsangathan.nic.in/ and also publicize the same.

·        KVS will follow up and encourage maximum participation from all schools, teachers and students of Kendriya Vidyalayas.

·        KVS will be part of the Evaluation team during the Final Round of Evaluation.

·        KVS will publish the final results of all categories in their web site.

·        The KVS will bear the cost of travel and boarding expenses of the winning participants.
